Oakland Marriott City Center
The Oakland Convention Center and Marriott Hotel
NOTE! Hotel reservations will open on March 15th. Please check back here for the link at that time.
We’re excited to welcome our 2026 WFC members to the Oakland Marriott City Center. The combined hotel and convention center complex offers us an extremely convenient destination for the World Fantasy Convention in 2026. Located in the heart of the city, with easy and inexpensive access via public transportation from three international airports, you’ll find dozens of restaurants within three blocks — there’s even a bookstore across the street!
The Marriott offers recently renovated modern and comfortable guest rooms and suites featuring soundproof windows, plush bedding, rainfall showers, and eclectic local art. We’re sure you’ll find the Oakland Marriott City Center a stylish and convenient home base in vibrant downtown Oakland.
Before making your reservation: Join Bonvoy and download the Bonvoy App to your phone for free wi-fi and other perks.
Please note — should you need to reserve an accessible room due to disability, please contact hotel@wfc2026.org BEFORE making your reservation. There are a limited number of rooms, but we will endeavor to accommodate everyone.
WFC 2026 Convention Room Rates:
Room with two Queen beds or one King bed – $199. night, excluding tax
Amenities at the Marriott include the Iron and Oak Restaurant and Bar, which will be serving a specialty cocktail just for the WFC 2026 — and open until 1AM! With ample space for eating, drinking, networking, and schmoozing, we promise there will be a cool vibe going on after hours. The restaurant and a coffee grab-& go kiosk are open 6am to 1pm, and 4pm-11pm.
There is an outdoor lounge area, just off the Iron and Oak Restaurant level. Enjoy hanging out in the early evenings, it’s a great area to sit and schmooze, play a game, or sit and read. Autumn weather in Oakland maintains the pleasant temperatures typical of summer, gradually turning into cooler weather, with warm days, and crisp evenings. Dress in layers, bring a light jacket, and comfortable shoes!
The hotel also offers a fitness room, a TopGolf© Swing Suite, a spacious lobby, and a large atrium for Registration (and photo ops with our WFC2026 Banner!)
Please note that there is no swimming pool at the hotel. There is an Oakland YMCA nearby, with a pool, at 19th & Broadway, a short walk from the hotel.
We’re delighted to have the amazing top-floor Skyline Room as our WFC 2026 Convention Lounge space. This will be our main hangout throughout the WFC. Enjoy a breathtaking view of the City and the San Francisco Bay from the top of the hotel. You’ll be hanging out here with a cocktail or latte to see the sunset (about 6:20pm) every evening!
Interested in holding a party in this space in the evening? Please contact Bethany Wingenfeld, Publisher Liaison, at publiasion@wfc2026.org, for pricing, dates, and times
Relax with a cup of tea and a good book, sit and chat with friends, roll the dice in your game, draw the Bay Bridge from the window, work on your latest novel, or take a quick nap! We’ll have a cash bar set up in the evenings, and we’ll offer a low-cost lunch selection on Friday and Saturday in the space as well.
The Presidential Suite — Party Central!
The Presidential Suite will be where parties are held during the WFC. Please note that all parties must be open to all members! If you plan to hold a private party, please either keep it to your hotel room, or make arrangements for an off-site meetup. The room will be booked in 2 hr increments, including time for cleanup for daytime, and from 7pm to 10pm in the evenings. Please contact Bethany Wingenfeld, Publisher Liaison, at publiasion@wfc2026.org, for pricing, dates, and times.
The hotel entrance is located on Market Street, directly across 12th Street from the 12th Street BART station exit, and 20 minutes by car or BART from the Oakland International Airport. There is limited parking available at the hotel, but we want to encourage you to take BART if possible — it’s so easy!
We will be exploring options for discounted parking in the area as well, and you’ll see that info posted here closer to the WFC.
Please see our Getting To and From WFC page for more transit information, as well as estimates of distances to the hotel from BART, Amtrak, and nearby bus stops.
Getting Around the Hotel
The entire hotel and convention center are ADA Compliant for the State of California. The hotel lobby entrance is at street level with no steps. Once you enter, the front desk is to the left, and lobby seating is to the right and straight ahead. On the far right of the front desk, there is both a ramp (to the left) and stairs (to the right) off of the lobby to the Convention Center.
There is a bank of elevators in the lobby across from the front desk that go to hotel rooms, the Con Suite, the Quiet Space, and the Skyline Room.
Directly off the ramp to the right, there is an escalator that takes you to the Programming Rooms and Iron and Oak Restaurant (to the left), and the M Club and hotel elevators (to the right).
In the Convention Center, there is also an additional elevator in the long hallway at the Art Show and Dealers Room entrance, that takes you to the convention programming floor.
