Greg Ketter: Bookseller Guest of Honor

Greg Ketter established DreamHaven Books & Comics, in 1977. It is an independent bookstore specializing in science fiction, fantasy and horror, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

DreamHaven is the oldest continuously running science fiction, fantasy and horror bookstore in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area. The store sells new and used genre fiction, comics and graphic novels, film books, and merchandise. The store won the Will Eisner Spirit of Retail Award in 1999. DreamHaven Press is the store’s in-house publishing company.

Greg Ketter has been involved in World Fantasy Conventions for many years, both as a retailer in the Dealers Room, and running the Dealers Room for many of them. He chaired the 1993 WFC in Bloomington, Minnesota, and the 2002 WFC in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He recently made the national news as a protester during the turmoil and unrest in Minneapolis in January, 2026, with a short video of him from the MS NOW show with Ari Velshi that went viral. Ketter was also a co-founder of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection of the 1st Amendment rights of the comics art form and its community of retailers, creators, publishers, librarians, and readers.

DreamHaven has been a booklover’s dream of a store for many years. With a notable selection of comics, graphic novels, new and used books, collectible editions, and especially signed books, in the science fiction, fantasy, and horror genres, DreamHaven is a destination not to be missed.

Ketter and his partner Lisa Freitag have hosted numerous high-profile names in the science fiction and fantasy genres at the store for many years, and continues to be open Monday through Saturday, 12-6, as well as attend and vend at many SFF conventions across the United States.
