All three nearby airports and BART are accessible for people with physical mobility concerns. Our local Accessibility Committee will be personally visiting each airport to double check for any issues that might interfere with getting to the BART station, closer to WFC. We’ll post any updates here, so be sure to check back.

Please see the links below for information about mobility assistance services at the airports.
In BART stations, train platforms are either upstairs or downstairs from the entry point. Escalators and elevators are usually right by the entrance and are always prominently marked. There are wheelchair entrances at the gates as well. Station agents are available most of the time, in the silver-and-glass boxes at the entry gates.
Don’t be shy about pushing the intercom button and asking a station agent for assistance; that’s absolutely what they’re there for. You can also visit this site which keeps track of elevator issues at all stations — https://www.bart.gov/stations/elevators

TRAVEL TIPS
- While traveling on BART, MUNI, or a bus from and to the airports, please keep hold of your luggage while in motion, so they don’t roll around.
- Each train is headed by a conductor, so seat yourself in the very front car if you feel safer doing so.
- You can move between cars if you want to.
- Each car has emergency buttons that connect to the conductor
- Seats by the doors are reserved for those with disabilities; don’t be shy about asking people to move if you need a seat.
- Keep in mind that BART trains can occasionally get very loud as they near the station platforms, as well as when going underground, or under the Bay.
- If loud noises are a concern for you, we recommend bringing earplugs.
- Service animals are always allowed on public transportation; other pets in carriers may be on board; if allergies are a concern, take precautions.
- Bicycles are allowed on BART
- Consumption of food or drink is allowed on any public transportation
- Bring exact change if you plan to pay by cash (and note BART does not take cash at all)
- As in every big city, be aware of your surroundings, and keep your phone, camera purse, or bag safe and close to you; if it has a strap, sling it crossways over your body.
